This work encompasses construction of a DoD Type III Pump Shelter to accommodate fuel pumps with a pre-engineered metal building (PEMB) overhead structure, associated equipment, new above ground Jet A Fuel Storage Tank, four (4) new underwing fueling hydrants, new pumping system and control building, support spaces and modification of 2 existing 2500 barrel tanks, containment and controls in connection with various mission critical activities for the 145th Airlift Wing.
The new hydrant system will allow about 420 gallons a minute to be transferred to the C-17 (heavy lift jets), which reduces the overall refueling time by half, compared to the current truck refueling method.
The ramp scope consists of structural rigid airfield paving, heavy duty flexible paving, standard flexible and rigid paving, airfield markings, tie-downs, grounding and lighting modifications with gabion basket retaining walls.
