Bodell Construction is under contract to construct a New Pump building at Nanakuli, Hawaii that is replacing an outdated pump station. The new pump station will be equipped with VFD pumps that allow more control and efficiency of flow than the current pumps, allowing the client to save money over time.
The excavation scope required detailed coordination with the client as the small site has many existing utilities creating challenges that need to be worked around with extreme caution. Bodell crews worked closely with the client to protect those lines during trenching and connection scheduling to existing live water lines.
The construction of the new 2,000 sf booster pump station includes the installation of 24” water mains, new booster pumps and controls, a new sodium hypochlorite system, drainage system, retaining walls, electrical service and a MCC.
